Can Kids Be Filled With The Holy Spirit?
‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.” Acts 2:17
God promises to pour out the Holy Spirit on all people.
The scriptures don’t say all people over 12.
The Bible boldly declares that the Holy Spirit is for ‘all people’.
Just to make sure we get it he says ‘your songs and daughters will prophesy’.
Prophesy in the New Testament means to speak ‘edification, exhortation and comfort’.
Throughout history the Holy Spirit has inspired kids to speak words of edification and exhortation.
Do you believe this?
Do you believe that God can speak through your kids?
Do you believe that kids can be filled with the Holy Spirit, because what you believe is very important.
God spoke through Samuel when he was a young child, but the first time God spoke Samuel thought Eli was talking to him.
In fact, God had to speak four times before Samuel received the prophecy.
This tells me that something changed between the Lord’s third attempt and the fourth time God spoke – that helped Samuel receive the prophecy.
What changed was Samuel’s Teacher – Eli. When Eli took some time to teach Samuel about how to respond to the voice of the Holy Spirit Samuel was able to receive the prophecy.
You are the doorway for the Holy Spirit in your classroom.
What I mean is that you can open the door for the Holy Spirit or you can close the door.
How do you open the door to the Holy Spirit?
By teaching your kids about the Holy Spirit.
