Dig Another Well

The Holy Spirit gave me a word for 2025.

Sometimes, the Holy Spirit falls like rain, but sometimes, you must dig another well. The water is always there in the dry season, but you can’t always see it. You have to dig for it.

In Genesis Chapter 26, there is famine in Canaan, and Issac wants to go to Egypt. The Lord tells Issac, “Do not go down to Egypt, but stay where you are, and I will give these lands to you because I promised this land to your father, Abraham.”

When our lives become dry and barren, we tend to want to go somewhere else where things seem better, but we often need to stay where we are.

During the famine, Issac planted some crops. He unplugged the wells his father Abraham had dug to water his crops. The scripture says that he harvested 100 times more than he planted, which caused Abimelech, king of the Philistines, to be jealous of Issac and tell him to go elsewhere.

Issac moved and dug another well. He found water, but the Philistines said, “This is our water.” Issac moved again, and the same thing happened. Finally, Issac moved a third time and dug another well, and the Philistines left him alone.

Can I be honest with you? 2024 has been a challenging year. I resigned from a position at a large church that I had invested 20 years into. I unplugged from ministry for several months and rested, as serving at a mega-church can be draining.

Then, I wondered what I should do now.

I had some ideas, but nothing seemed to work. I missed ministry. It was a dry season.

It affects your confidence when you haven’t preached in almost a year. You struggle with self-doubt, asking questions like, “Do I still have it? Can I still minister? Will people listen to me?”

Then, in September, I attended a large Kids Ministry Conference, but instead of being encouraged, I was frustrated. Please don’t misunderstand me. It was a good conference with thousands of attendees but placed very little emphasis on the Holy Spirit.

Whenever I had a booth at the big KidMin conferences, I never sold anything because our curriculum is written for Spirit-filled churches.

I asked the Lord, “Why aren’t there any Kidmin conferences for Spirit-Filled churches?”

I heard these words, “Why don’t you do it?”

I had successfully hosted Kidmin conferences 20 years ago, but that was 20 years ago.

  • Would it work today?
  • Do people want this kind of conference today?

I wasn’t sure, but then the Holy Spirit prodded me.

“Dig another well.”

I knew what I needed to do.

I contacted my friend Becky Fischer, who has a similar vision for kids and the Holy Spirit.

“Becky, what do you think about doing a Kidmin conference together for Spirit-filled churches?”

Becky didn’t hesitate. “I’m in. I’ll do whatever I can to promote it.”

Fast-forward to today, and the Lord has confirmed that this truly is the assignment for this next season. After Houston and Lake Wales, we’ve seen a hunger in leaders and parents like never before—people who desperately want their kids to know the Holy Spirit and walk in His power.

We are not stopping. We are digging more wells.

That’s why I’m so excited to invite you to our next gathering—
the Supernatural Children’s Ministry Summit, happening September 30 – October 2, 2025 in Minneapolis, MN.

This Summit is more than just another event. With 20 seasoned speakers and over 36 breakout sessions, it’s designed to equip children’s pastors, leaders, and parents to raise up Spirit-filled kids who walk in God’s power.

The preaching will be anointed, the worship will be Spirit-led, and the presence of God will meet us in a tangible way. More importantly, you’ll be connected with a tribe of people who are contending for the same thing you are—kids on fire for God.

Thank you, Pastor Mark. You were my mentor back years ago as a coach, and together with your beloved wife, Debbie have been and still are a blessing and encouragement to me. You were an inspiration for me to complete my book, “Let the Children Come”.
I am imparting to my workers at this time, training, loving, etc. We will be livestreaming the conference here at our church.
