How I mentor my volunteers
I want to share with you how I mentor my Small Group Leaders.
- I meet with them once a month for 30 minutes during Large Group.
- I buy one copy of The Red Book for all my Small Group Leaders.
- I pick out a chapter in The Red Book.
- We go around in a circle, and everyone reads one paragraph at a time. (Each chapter is 4 -5 pages, which takes about 10 minutes.)
- Then we talk about what we got out of that chapter. (I find the concepts in the The Red Book will stick with people, if I can get them to talk about them.)
That’s how I mentor my volunteers. There you go.
I find that if I take the time to pour into my volunteers:
- They are on time.
- They are more consistent.
- They stay with me longer.
