How Does God View Kid’s Ministry?

In the journey of serving in kids’ ministry, one often encounters the misconception that it’s somehow lesser or not as significant as other forms of ministry. Despite its vital importance, such attitudes can take a toll on your spirit over time.

As a leader, it’s crucial not to let these perceptions wear you down. You must continuously uplift yourself. A scripture that has provided me with strength is:

“But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Therefore insofar as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry…”

Romans 11:13 (NASB)

Paul’s words resonate deeply—he magnified his calling. Why? Because he faced a lack of respect for his ministry, particularly among those in the church who viewed his work with the Gentiles as inferior. Despite this, Paul embraced his mission wholeheartedly, recognizing that in God’s eyes, every aspect of ministry holds value.

Just as Paul emphasized the significance of his ministry, we too must recognize the importance of kids’ ministry. While it may not hold a superior status to other ministries, it carries a unique significance in the eyes of our Heavenly Father.

Consider this: among the various names for God in the Bible, the one Jesus frequently used was “Father.” This designation inherently implies a relationship with children. Thus, when we engage in kids’ ministry, we are participating in a work deeply cherished by Father God.

It’s inevitable that challenges will arise. People may fail to appreciate your efforts, misunderstand your role, or even disregard your contributions. But amidst these trials, remember that your ultimate accountability lies with Father God, who called you to this task.

If you ever feel disheartened or disrespected, take inspiration from Paul’s example. Rather than succumbing to negativity, magnify your ministry. Embrace your calling with passion and conviction. Let your enthusiasm for kids’ ministry ignite a spark in others, prompting a positive shift in perspective and attitude.

So, never pity yourself or diminish the importance of your ministry. Avoid the temptation to compare it with others or become defensive in the face of criticism. Instead, amplify your calling with unwavering dedication. For in doing so, you not only honor God but also inspire transformative change within your kid’s ministry.
