Have You Heard The News?

After 45 years, I retired from my job as Kids Pastor. It was a good weekend. Many parents and kids came by to say “Thank You,” and I reconnected with many kids who grew up on our ministry teams and continue to serve the Lord as adults.

So, what’s next?

Debbie and I will take a four-month sabbatical to celebrate all God has done for us and those we served. I want to take some time to remember all the things God did and reach out to express gratitude to the people along the way who were part of our journey. (I have posted some pics here of the early days of our ministry.)

The other purpose of our sabbatical is rest. Resting is not something I have been good at, so I am on a learning curve. We will be unplugging from social media for weeks, and then we may pop up with an update or share something we learned along the way.

The third purpose of our sabbatical is to have focused time to spend time with God and pray about future assignments. I’m not quitting, just re-focusing. I know my “Kids Pastor” assignment is complete, but I still have some unfinished business.

I see writing in my future. I have some books in my heart for both parents and kids.

Additionally, I have a heart for mentoring young Kids Pastors. We will be doing our mentoring through video courses that we offer through our website, SuperChurch.com.

On February 26, We will launch our first course, a 12-week course entitled “Building Kids Ministry From Scratch.”  This first course is excellent for any new Kids Pastors just starting or as a refresher for those who have been serving for years. I plan to release a new course every four months with a total of ten courses. Stay tuned for more details.

Thank you for the opportunity to be part of your life and ministry.

You and Debra have been such a blessing to our teachers & helpers and myself here at Word of Life Church for about 18 years. Thank you so much for continuing to pour into the lives of ministers and leaders for the glory of God!!
